How Do I Sort, Filter, or Search Books on the Platform?

How to use the sort, filter, and search capabilities for lists of books.

Our platform offers a search and sort functionality, allowing you to quickly find and organize relevant information. Here's a concise guide on how to effectively utilize these features.

Searching for Book Information:

On the Library page, locate the search box positioned at the top right, just above the book catalog.
Click on the "Search" box to initiate a search.
You can search by the following categories:
- Book Title: Type the name of a title to find specific books.
- Author: Enter an author's name to search for books by that author.
- ISBN Code: Input an ISBN code to find a book using its unique identifier.
- Content Tags: Search for books with specific content tags, such as "History."
- Book Description: Search for keywords that may appear in the description of the book.
- Publisher: Enter a specific book publishing company's name.

As you type your query, the platform will display all results matching your search criteria.
To go back to the entire catalog, ensure you click the "x" button on the right side of the search bar.

Sorting Books in your Library Catalog:

To organize the book catalog, you have sorting options available. To access them, drop down the "Sort by" menu and select which category you want to sort by. Our search sorting options are listed below.

  - Added (Oldest First)
  - Added (Oldest First)
  - Checkouts (Most)
  - Checkouts (Least)

Filtering Books in your Library Catalog:

To further filter your result, you can use the "Book Status" and "Access" dropdown menus on the top left. Simply select what category you want to filter your catalog by. Our search filter options are listed below.
- Search by "Book Status":
  - All Books
  - Checked out
  - Recommended
  - Challenged
  - Banned
  - Deleted Books
  - Overdue
- Search by "Access":
  - All Books
  - Pending Review
  - Allowed
  - Limited Access
  - Don’t Show
